General Information

 This is the Municipal Court for Lopatcong, Harmony Township, and Franklin Township. This court has jurisdiction over parking offenses, motor vehicle offenses, certain misdemeanor charges and other non-traffic violations. The court administrator's Office is the information and communication center for the municipal court.

Court Sessions

 Sessions are by appointment only. Contact the court office to be scheduled. If an interpreter is required, please contact the court office prior to your hearing. Adjournments are given in medical emergencies only, and proof from a doctor is required.

Court Schedules Upon arrival, please check in with the court administrator. For the safety and security of the public and court officials, all individuals and articles entering the courtroom will be searched.

Defendant Responsibilities
  1. You must personally appear at all scheduled hearings.
  2. You must immediately advise the court administrator of any change in your mailing address.
  3. If you hire an attorney, you must have your attorney send a letter of representation to the court administrator.
  4. if you plan to call witnesses, you must provide the court administrator with the name(s) and address(es) at least seven (7) days prior to your hearing date.

Payment Of Fines

 If a case does not mandate a court appearance, fines may be paid any time prior to the court date shown on the summons. Fines may be paid in person at the Lopatcong Township Municipal Building from 8:30AM - 5:00PM weekdays. Payments also can be mailed to the Lopatcong Township Municipal Court, 232 South 3rd Street, Phillipsburg NJ 08865.
