The Warren County Mosquito Control Commission is planning an adult mosquito treatment for Thursday night, October 4, 2018 between 7:00 pm and 11:30 pm, weather permitting.
A truck mounted ultra-low volume sprayer will apply an insecticide called Zenivex E4 (EPA Reg # 2724-807) Active Ingredient Etofenprox. Trucks are clearly marked as mosquito control vehicles. Applications are limited and targeted to areas of high populations of nuisance and West Nile virus positive mosquitoes. Due to the ultra-low volume technology, residential exposure is very low. If residents prefer to stay inside and close windows and doors when spraying takes place they can, out of an abundance of precaution, but it is not necessary. The spray does not harm pets, but residents may choose to bring them inside while the spraying occurs. More information about truck-mounted spraying from the CDC can be found at https://www.cdc.gov/zika/pdfs/TruckMounted-FactSheet.pdf
